I would say that my senior year has also gone by surprisingly fast. At the beginning I thought that it was going to be a fairly slow year because of the anticipation about going to college and all, but now I am just kind of chill. I am very glad that the year has gone by quickly opposed to going by at a slow pace. Everyday it seems I go to school and I just don't have that much of a problem with being there. Don't get me wrong I have senioritis and am looking forward to moving on with my life, but it's not that hard I guess for me to get up in the morning. There are some days however that I go home and want to do something like sit around and watch TV but instead have to do something for homework. I've been pretty good about doing most of my work at school but there are certain things sometimes that have to be done at home. This has proven to be quite annoying as I become fairly worthless when I get home. I can work hard (sort of) during the day but when I go inside my house I'm pretty much checked ou

I think this is an interesting take on the situation. I also think Michael Jackson is a bit strange and I definitely don't agree with the things that he has been accused of doing. I think the whole thing really tells how money can help you get out of things. As far as I know, there was pretty good evidence to suggest that Jackson was guilty of what he was accused of but when lawyers tell parents or whatever that they will give them lots of money, some might fold and drop charges. I found what you said about doing things that are weird interesting as well. In our society its very true that people are quite judgmental about how people act and label them accordingly. To a degree I believe this is fair, but at the same time I wish people would give others the benefit of the doubt to start off and find out more information before they pass judgment. I do however believe that there is enough evidence to pass judgment on good old Michael, but hey, that's just me. Hopefully he will figure things out and work

Expecting too much: It is important to have opinions on something you deem important rather than having standards. If you have a standard that is not met you are more than likely going to be disappointed. On the other hand, if you have an opinion that is altered in a situation you will be enlightened and a better person for having the opportunity to see a different side of something. I feel like standards almost act as road blocks. In our society we are so focused on how we want a situation to be or how we think we need to live our lives in order to be happy. If we act more subdued and take in experiences as they come to us rather than trying to obtain what can be impossible we will get so much more out of life. We are never happy with the hand we are dealt because, as a culture, we’re greedy. We feed this greed by having standards of how things “should be” and if they don’t turn out as we have planned we become angered and even more determined to “get it right” the next time. This is why

The best way to describe Brad is unnaturally quirky and incredibly myopic. He would say the rudest things to me as if it didn't matter, "Hey Ben here's an idea: how about you cover your mouth when you cough so people don't hate you." What do you say to something like that? The only way I could accept his behavior was to tell myself that he didn't mean to be rude and that he just didn't realize what he was doing. Toward the end of his prolonged stay, it felt like he was milking his time at the house by creating new projects that "needed to be done." It all eventually came to an end when he moved out and bought his own place in Austin, then sold his house for profit and is now traveling with a woman named Trisha, but I don't know or want to know anymore than that.
I have changed my mind now about Brad. Some of his traits I respected, and some not so much. Sometimes you have to just accept the person for whatever sliver of their personality is appealing to you.
The Other OP
In o

I agree with Lloyd that to learn in groups is most definitely not the only way to learn. Yes, it is a possibility and obviously it is helpful to collaborate with other people and listen to ideas you may not have come up with on your own but I do not think it is the only or most effective way to learn. What about reading, listening to a lecture, or, most importantly, your experiences? Ideas are spread in more ways than just verbal communication. For example: through many of my experiences in school I, as other students, have been assigned to read a chapter and later have a quiz on it. I passed the quiz not because I talked about the chapter with other students but because I read the chapter I was assigned. The fact that I passed the quiz by reading the chapter proves that I learned something in a way different than having a discussion in a group. I think that above all you must experience something to fully learn about it. I never understood what it was like to go into high school until I physically ma

I would like to address the topic of laziness as it relates to our generation and our use of technology. I agree for the most part that in some ways we have become rather lazy. This is probably not a good thing but is to be expected when you have all of theses devices and such that will do things for you. I personally love technology and think that it is very helpful and helps to make our lives more efficient. However, there is a point where things start to get ridiculous. For example, this new Microsoft product that they have been putting in cars called "Sync" is pretty cool but also a bit of a stretch, at least for me. It is basically a voice activated system that will call people for you and play songs, change the radio station, etc. I'm not sure if this promotes laziness, because it's not really an important issue, but it just seems kind of strange. One argument however that I can think of that would be in favor of this would be the fact that it probably does make things safer because people don't

This OP raises some interesting topics. The theme that I find to be the most interesting is how some people embody change. You talk about how you are looking forward to getting to be on your own and make your own decisions partly because it is something new and exciting. I have the same feeling often times and sometimes feel bored and ready to move on. I think a change in lifestyle or the activities that one chooses to engage can also increase motivation. It will probably a good experience for you to get some time to relax, make some money, and get ready to go to England to attend college. I am probably going to start college in the summer because that was the offer that I got form Penn State. That is of course assuming I go there in the first place. I think this will be a cool thing because I will have a little bit of time in the beginning of summer to hang out with friends and such but will then get a head start in learning how to manage my new life.

It’s a great experience for us to be able to manipulate the text in our presentations.I also like the fact that we are able to delete what we deem to be unnecessary in our presentations.I was actually able to gain a greater appreciation for the play once I could fully understand what was going on.Watching other groups and how they manipulated their text was also interesting. It just goes to show that there are many possible ways one can interpret Shakespeare and although a translations may sound cut and dry, it definitely is not.
Many people have never read the play “Macbeth” and if we had studied it like we are doing now before we watched a movie based on it that was in another language, the movie would have been easier to follow and it is likely that more people would have been able to keep interest.I think a lot of people didn’t pay attention and did poorly on the “Throne of Blood” test not only because is Macbeth a new story but it was also rather difficult to follow something so foreign.Obv

I don't think we read this in class, but I really wish we would have. It is so well written and we could have a really good discussion about it. Joe is such a cool person to listen too. It's so cool that he tries to reach out to other cultures. Especially in the community we live in, it's easy to just see one side of the world. I wish more of us would reach outside of this bubble. I think Joe is very lucky to have had the diverse upbringing that he has. He knows so much about the world. I wish I was that lucky. You can tell when he speaks, that it has made him a much more intelligent person. He knows more than most people his age. Recently I was called in to the AEP office to talk about my time here at the DAEP. My first thought was, "what are you smoking dude" that makes him think I would be better off over here in hell. I went back to my tiny box in hell and thought for at least ten minutes. I was thinking about what Mr. G said, and then it occurred to me. This place is so boring to the point where you want to do your work and get everything done. You are not allowed to fall asleep or take naps, and I struggle to keep myself awake every single day. I start my morning off with a PIMP JUICE energy drink, which is like crack in a can.
